European Spa – bbspa_Group announces a key new appointment

Finlay Anderson has joined spa consultancy BBSPA Group as director of operations.

He joins the group from his role as area spa and leisure director at IHG, a position he held from 2020.

As director of operations, Anderson will be instrumental in shaping BBSPA’s portfolio of projects.

He will oversee operations including market research and feasibility studies, technical design, specifications and full spa management support.

BBSPA was initiated in Italy more than 30 years ago by spa industry experts Gabriella Francia and Régis Boudon-Doris.

Co-founder and CEO, Kirsty MacCormick, launched the UK arm of the group last year, offering a full turnkey spa consultancy service.

Anderson brings extensive spa and leisure industry experience to the role.

Having worked for David Lloyd Leisure for four years, he joined the Hotel Collection, where he spent eight years as group spa manager.

He also worked at Q Hotels before taking a position as spa director at IHG’s Kimpton Blythswood Square.

As area spa and leisure director for the hotel group, Anderson was responsible for seven leisure clubs and spas within the IHG-managed estate.

He was named Spa Professional of the Year at the the Hotel Cateys in 2022.

During 2025, BBSPA Group is set to embrace a more unified approach across its three offices in Edinburgh, Paris, and Bologna.

The group now employs 25 industry professionals including architects, interior designers, technical specialists, operational directors and trainers.

It is spearheading more than 50 projects worldwide, including 18 in the UK.
